4 Percent Muslim okay: Supreme Court
In a major victory to the Andhra Pradesh government, the Supreme Court on Thursday permitted it to continue with four per cent reservation for 14 backward groups among Muslims for the time being.
While revoking the AP High Court's stay on the quota, the bench consisting of the Chief Justice, K.G. Balakrishnan, and Justices J.M. Panchal and B.S. Chauhan referred the case to a Constitution bench that will assemble in second week of August to take up the matter.
